It’s time for another dog gadget review - this time it’s the RemieDog Metro poop bag holder.

As dog parents, walks and outside activities are an essential part of our everyday lives. But let’s face it, when you run out of poop bags in the middle of a walk and in a public place, that pleasant walk can quickly turn into quite a sticky situation.

What is RemieDog?

RemieDog LLC is a New York based small company. The owners actually have a cute dog, hence the reason why they knew what kind of a product is needed.

Their primary product is a dog poop bag holder, that has a built-in gauge to indicate, when you are down to about three bags. That should give dog owners a sense of security so that they will never run out of poop bags unexpectedly.

Key Features

1. Poop bag gauge - I believe this is the most important thing about this product that actually makes this poop bag holder stand out amongst others. It shows you 3 levels: full, 3 bags remaining and last bag warning level.

2. Bag compatibility - when you order one of their Metro poop bag holders, then they send it with a roll of their biodegradable bags that fit very well. At first we were a bit worried about if it’ll work as well with our own local poop bags… but it does!

3. Durable case - the poop bag case pretty durable, but as dog owners we know that we’re spending A LOT of time outside…with every possible weather. The good thing about the poop bag holder is also that it’s weather proof. Meaning that rain, mud etc won’t ruin it or fade it’s colour (tone).

4. Extra hooks - the Metro poop bag holder has 2 extra accessory hooks at the top. You can use them however you wish actually. But a new thing to us was that you can attach used bag to it or an empty extra bag, when you know that you only have one bag left in the holder.

Potential drawbacks

1. If you have had just a regular poop bag holder so far, then with this one, you need to get used to checking the bag gauge, because otherwise it’s just a dog poop bag holder like any other.
   But if you’ll get used to it, then it can really save you from an embarrassing situation.

2. The price of the item itself is around 30€. It’s not the most expensive dog gadget, but because it’s from America, the shipping might add on another 20€.
   So when you’re someone from Europe or Asia, then ordering it might be quite expensive.

3. Third thing is the silicone strap and it’s durability. Of course, it’s super easy to use and clip it from one leash to another, but I keep thinking how well it’ll last, because over time silicone will loosen, especially with heavy use. 🤔 But the good thing is that you can actually add your own strap there. So that one is definitely solvable. 🤓

We actually bought our RemieDog Metro Poop bag holder straight from their website, but their product is also available on Amazon.

Now, the shipping cost might even be smaller, if ordering from Amazon, but it of course depends on from which country you are ordering it from.

We later found out that for us, the shipping to Estonia would have actually been a little bit cheaper, if ordering from Amazon. But again, if you are form the US or somewhere close, then it might be the opposite for you.

So just a friendly little suggestion to compare and check it out, which one would be more affordable for you. 🤗

The verdict

As we have been testing out the RemieDog poop bag holder and using it for some time now, we can say that it’s definitely a thoughtfully designed dog gadget.

The poop bag gauge, the compact, yet nice design do make it stand out amongst other regular dog poop bag holders.
