If you are interested and want to know more about different puzzles, then here are our reviews for other dog puzzles. 🤓

Why get a puzzle like this at first place?

Have you ever seen videos of dogs destroying furniture, shoes, cable chords etc? Or maybe your own dog has done that? Usually dogs start making trouble when they’re bored and that is why puzzle toys can be part of the solution – they give a good brain exercise to your dog and drive away boredom.

Another good thing about puzzle toys like this one, is that you can easily take it with you. So when you’re planning a family getaway and want to take your dog with you – it’s a great way to keep your four legged friend busy for some time and stay away from trouble.

About the Dog Worker puzzle

The Dog Worker puzzle is circular toy. You can add as many or as little treats you want.

The Dog Worker puzzle toy is circular and there are different compartments that your dog can spin and move around to get the treat – you can add as many or as little treats you want.

In addition you can change the difficulty level a little bit, by sliding and blocking specific parts so that your dog has to really think, how to move a certain knob of the puzzle to open up the treat hole.

And what's great about this toy is that your dog can smell the treats inside the toy, but can only access them by moving the pieces to the right places.

How to choose the right one? 🤔

If you don't have a lot of experience purchasing dog puzzles before, it might seem daunting at first. Then the question is – how to choose the right one? Well, there are a few things to consider before making the purchase.

  • Difficulty level

You can choose from level 1 - beginner, level 2 - medium level that suits most of the dogs, level 3 - advanced and level 4 - experts. That last one is for dogs, who can easily bite through, what needs to be done to get the treat. So when you want to make your dog really work for it to get the treat, get the level 4 puzzle or even an interchangeable puzzle, so you can create new variations every time.

  • Puzzle style

Puzzle style means that you can choose, if your dog has to flip, turn, remove or spin different parts of the puzzle. Some of the simplest ones can be …. So at the end of the day, if your dog has never played with any of the puzzle toys before, it’s always safe to start from level one, like THIS ONE or THIS CUTE ONE with bone shaped compartments and just move on from there.

Price and quality

We have given this particular puzzle toy to multiple high energy dogs and it has survived just fine! By now, we have had this “Dog worker” puzzle for about 3 years now and taking that into consideration - it still looks and works very well.

You can get this toy for around 33$. Nina Ottosson dog toys in general range from 10-35$, which is actually not too bad, considering that you can use them for years. Now, we haven’t tried all of their puzzles, so keep in mind that the quality can differ from toy to toy. But we have a second Nina Ottosson puzzle fas well, but we’ll leave this one for another review. 🙃

Is it worth the money?

We'll give this level 3 Dog Worker puzzle a big YES

Seeing how well (at least this particular puzzle) has stayed in one piece after about 3 years of using…we’ll give this level 3 Dog Worker puzzle a big YES!

The material is sturdy and even our husky with her strong teeth hasn’t broken it. Even none of the moving compartments haven’t broken off. So we definitely encourage you to try it out.
