Dog paw cleaner cup review
As I am writing this post it’s raining again. 🌧 Here, the weather can be very random and right now, and for the past week, it has constantly been raining and the ground has gotten very muddy.
So even if you go out with your dog for 5 minutes, your dog is going to get really dirty. And it’s going to be very unpleasant if your pup brings all of that dirt inside the house.
The design
The design of the paw cleaning cup is pretty simple.
You have a cup…of course, and inside it is a strip of soft silicone bristles, which you can take out of the cup.
All you have to do is rinse out the cup, then fill it with fresh clean water and you are ready to go.
Does it work?
After going out on a muddy day and testing this cleaner - I can say that Yes, this thing cleans paws, BUT that doesn’t mean that it is very useful by itself.
Some people like to “test” this device by making the underside of their dog’s paw dirty and then they wash it off with this cup. However, in the real world, your dog will get dirtier in more places than just the paws.
Everything above the paws – from the elbows to the stomach, also gets dirty.
So even if you clean the paws with this cleaner, you’re still going to have to clean everything else the old fashioned way - either with a towel or a quick rinse under the shower.
And if you’re going to choose the shower, then you might as well just skip the paw cleaner part entirely.
Is it worth it?
I would say that this product is worth your time and money, if you:
Don’t want or can’t use your shower
Want your dog’s paws to be clean of something your dog stepped into something (example: pee, poo or salt)
Use a waterproof coat to prevent everything else from getting dirty
Using a raincoat and a paw cleaner cup together makes the most sense, because they support the idea that you only have to clean your dog’s paws.
But, if you are a dog owner like us who keeps their dog “naked”, then the paw cleaner is honestly more trouble than it is worth. Especially for 20$ - if you’re not going to use it that much, then it’s way too much for a cup and some bristles.
If you want a cheap alternative to cleaning your dog’s paws then just get a jar of pickles. Eat the pickles, clean the jar out and boom: you have a way to rinse your dog’s paws.
So it’s really up to you if you can make the best use of this cup. If you are sure that you can use it often, then go for it. But if you are expecting a magical trick to clean your dog fast and easy, then this isn’t it.
